All across the State of Illinois, there are grassroots organizations forming with a common goal – to ensure every parent has a choice over their child’s individual healthcare as they enter the 2021-2022 school year. The choice to send their kids to school with or without a mask and the ability to make those decisions within their family.
If you follow the mainstream media, these concerned parents’ voices are often silenced or their stories are manipulated to fit within their agenda.
On Monday, July 19, 2021, a large group of concerned parents associated with the Speak For Students organization attended the Edwardsville School Board Meeting to have their voices heard. Many had one simple request – remove the restrictions and give parents a choice to send their kids to school without a mask. In fact – many made it a point to reinforce that they respect the position of the parents who choose to send their kids to school in a mask.
Also in attendance was a local Southern Illinois Attorney – Thomas DeVore, who has been advocating for parent and student rights across the state. Mr. DeVore referenced several Illinois Supreme Court cases that could significantly impact Madison County if a resolution is passed on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, by the Madison County Board of Health. The Board of Health will be considering a resolution that strongly recommends masks be optional for kids in school. Essentially, if the Board of Health declares there is no longer an active emergency by strongly recommending masks are optional, case law could preclude any school district in Madison County from imposing such restrictions.

The mainstream media failed to report any of these facts and stuck with the narrative that fits their agenda – KMOV Segment.
At this school board meeting – board members, administrators, faculty, and staff made a statement as they wore their masks. However, for the June 2021 meeting, they were maskless.
